Ocean Freight Pricing Analyst
International freight forwarding
company seeks a Pricing Analyst
who is extremely professional
that can portray a high
corporate image. You will be
responsible for collecting and
analyzing the company's service
pricing compared to published or
disclosed prices of competitors
in the market place. You will
also develop pricing options to
meet competitive opportunities
and provide input for
profitability projections and
corporate pricing strategy.
To

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
-
Provide excellence in
customer service and a first
place of contact for client
inquiries, concerns and
complaints. Special
attention to key assigned
accounts.
-
Develop and define
appropriate price guidelines
and bid strategy for
division; define ceiling
price points. Maintain and
update all tariffs.
-
Prepare various reports to
analyze rates as they
compare to competitors and
marked activities.
-
Support the sales team and
lead effective price reviews
on large and/or new
opportunities with
cross-functional divisional
staff teams. Assist in
close strategy.
-
Keep updated on all trades
and current market
conditions for the sales
department. Maintain
product knowledge and
regularly monitor
industry-pricing practices,
particularly for major
competitors and
distributors.

Meet with customers and
ocean carrier
representatives to establish
a strong rapport.
-
Assist the
division/department manager
in the effective maintenance
of the companies ISO
Policies. Participate in
meetings and overall
objectives for the Ocean
Freight department.

Comply with all safety
policies, practices and
procedures. Report all
unsafe activities to
supervisor and/or Human
Resources.
-
Provide back up support
within department during
busy periods, vacations and
unexpected employee
absences.
-
Participate in proactive
team efforts to achieve
departmental and company
goals.
-
Provide leadership to others
through example and sharing
of knowledge and skills.
-
Perform all other job
related duties as required
by management.
Education/Skills/Experience
-
Formal
Academic Training in
Business, marketing or
related field and 6 years or
more experience within the
logistics (Ocean) field.
-
Advances
degree or certification
preferred (CITT or CIFFA).
-
Ability
to read, analyzes, and
interprets documents such as
safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions,
and procedures manuals.
Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively
before groups of customers
or employees of the
organization.
-
Ability
to calculate figures and
amounts such as discounts,
interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and
volume.
-
Intermediate computer skills
including electronic mail,
record keeping, routine
database activity, word
processing, spreadsheet,
graphics, etc. Ability to
create spreadsheets/matrix
to interpret data.
This
is a newly developed position -
to start in the New Year.
